Want to expand your photography portfolio? The Featured Acoustic Playlist is looking for voluntary photographers to shoot at this year’s biggest acoustic concert! With well over 1,000 people in attendance last year and big youtube celebrity performers, this year’s event will be bigger than ever.
This is a non-paid gig.
Photographers get all access to the concert and will be fed for the day.

Open Auditions for The Featured Acoustic Playlist 2.0
A) DESCRIPTION:
Enter for a chance to perform at the Featured Acoustic Playlist on August 2010 in Southern California. Three (3) lucky artists will get a chance to showcase their musical talents live, alongside headlining acts, and featured on the live internet broadcast of the show.
B) ELIGIBILITY:
Entrants must be 16 years old or older and currently residing in the Continental United States or Canada.
Finalists under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied to the show by a parent or legal guardian.
C) HOW TO ENTER:
Post a video response to this video to guarantee your entry in this audition process.
Please provide a quick introduction about yourself and perform the song of your choice as your entry.
All video responses to this video of SINxJAE are deemed official entries.
D) SELECTION PROCESS:
From the day of this video release to 2/28 (February 28, 2010), entrants will have a chance to submit their entry as a video response.
- March 2-9th — Top 25 entries will be filtered and proceed to an online voting process.
- TBA — Top 5 Semi-finalists will be selected from the result of online voting poll.
- TBA — The Top 5 winners will have to submit a second video to see the versatility of the artists. Official details of the second video will be later announced.
- TBA — Top 3 Finalists will be chosen from another online voting poll.
E) WINNERS:
First Place: Finalist will get a chance to perform under the Playlist section and open up the Second Act of the show. You will also get travel and hotel accommodations for the show.
Second and Third Place: Finalists will get a chance to perform under the Prelist section of the show. You will however be responsible for providing your own hotel and travel accommodations.
Fourth and Fifth Place: Finalists will serve as the back up performers for the top 3 finalists should they experience any difficulties, which will inhibit their ability to perform at the show. You will receive Special Guest passes to the show.
FEATURED ACOUSTIC PLAYLIST is an event organized by Jason Toledo (SINxJAE), Mel T. (melmyfinger) and members of BTVFAM. Varieties of musical personalities are gathered from across the country to showcase their talents. The goal of this event is to showcase the musical talents of today’s youth, while sparking interest in art and music; thus bringing people together in a common interest to raise money for a good cause. The event will open up opportunities for people to meet their role models and possibly give them the inspiration to emulate or follow in the artist’s footsteps.

Mainstream media sucks. Cuz according to coverage on the radio, news shows and even trending topics on Twitter, reality shows like The Hills and Jon & Kate Plus 8 are more important than reality like the thousands of lives devastated by Typhoon Ondoy.
That’s just bullshit.
So over the past few days, AJ Rafael was on a mission to raise awareness of the crisis. AJ’s goal: give recognition to the Philippines in the form of a trending topic of Twitter.
A couple days went by and all AJ had to show for it was a few dozen retweets, which is hardly a blip in Twitterland. But with a simple point in the right direction, AJ & friends were able to get #HealPhilippines to the top of the trending topics list on Twitter!
In just three hours of broadcasting on UStream, there were over 7,000 instances of #HealPhilippines showing up in the Twittersphere! That’s HUGE.
And to top it off, we managed to raise over $1,200 for those in need!
To everyone that was a part of tonight’s (and last night’s) fundraiser, thank you. Know that somewhere out there, a life will breathe easier because of what you accomplished in just the past couple nights.

The room rate is for $63.20 a night. It includes one King bed and some of the rooms with a king bed have a soda bed, and complimentary internet. (I know this will be a big plus to ppl since I’m sure everyone will be bringing their laptops) To guarantee the sofa bed, the reservations MUST be made by phone since there isn’t an option online. The phone number for making the reservations is 1-866-539-0036. Everything else that comes with the room can be found in the room description.
It’s best if reservations are made by this week since the special rate is for a limited time. I also recommend people call the actual Marriott itself, to double verify that their reservations have gone through so that there will be no issues or conflicts the day off arrival, for whenever it is that anyone arrives.
